Innovation of cycling technology : The Lotus Type 108

Originally known as LotusSport Pursuit Bicycle and this bike is manipulated from the original design by Norfolk based Mike Burrows. This revolutionary frame is an advanced aerofoil cross-section using a carbon composite monocoque and was rejected by British bicycle manufacturers. Plus, it was put illegal by the UCI. Even though British Cycling Federation was enthusiastically accepting this bike, this project was shelved in 1987. In 1992, Chris Boardman won the 400m pursuit race in the Barcelona Olympics using the same bike after the UCI has revoked the ban in 1990.

Total of 15 Lotus Type 108 has been produced. 3 of them has been used in the Olympics and a further of 8 replicas were sold at £15,000 each. Wanna see it for yourself? Head down to the Science Museum in South Kensington.

tour of Johor

9 riders, 600km, 4 days, circling the state of Johor. Our friends from Southernfixed and their associates from Wightset! are planning a cycling tour around Johor, the 5th largest state by land area and 3rd most populated state in Malaysia. Driven : A film from Trek Bike

Trek Bike USA uploaded this long ago but I've just found out 'bout it. I know it's not a fixed gear bike video but Trek owns one of the best track bike ever which is the Trek T1. The video is a documentary to show what the brand is all about. There are 4 short videos and each video show different angles of Trek. "Trek is more than just a bike sponsor," says Fränk Schleck of LEOPARD TREK. "They are our partner, our teammate, as important as any rider on the team. They will make us faster." One epic bicycle video from them! Two thumbs up!

Malaysia premiere of the DVD "to live and ride in LA" at Grafa

Malaysia's own fixed gear boutique, Grafa is hosting the Malaysia premiere of the movie "To Live and Ride in LA" by Trafik Pictures. They are also organizing the swap meet session where people sell their unused bicycle or non bicycle items at a very super low price. There will be goldsprints too but not a single news about the prizes. Maybe the winner will get a brand new customized Colossi? Who knows? These Grafa folks got some tricks up their sleeves. By the way, be there or be square!

Fantastic futuristic bicycle design

From Bianchi to BMW and to Specialized, they are designing something futuristic for the bicycle world. I'm not sure whether they're gonna produce these robotic bikes massively but for the mean time I'll stick to vintage. But we're not all the same right? You decide. Death is just another journey. We from the YellowBikeCompany family pays our biggest condolences to these 2 heroes. First is our fellow cyclist, Jeremy "JJ" Adams. This Orlando Fgfs Rider was hit by a drunk driver while he was riding his motorcycle. A huge impact in Orlando, Florida. Rest in peace brother. God bless...

Next is one of our favorite star from a huge prank movie, Jackass, Ryan Dunn. Who doesn't watch Jackass is a jackass! Another huge loss for his family and friends. Mr. Dunn was caught in a car crash in Pennsylvania right after a fun night with a couple of friends. “We are devastated by the tragic loss of Ryan Dunn – a beloved member of the MTV family for more than a decade,' President of MTV Networks Music/Films Group Van Toffler said in a statement. I am a Jackass fan since CKY really miss him. I wonder what the next Jackass movie gonna look like without him. 'Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Ryan’s family and friends. The Jackass brotherhood will never be the same.' Love ya my man!

You'll pamper it, love it, wash it and will do everything to keep it perfect but here's a list of used and new track frames in Yellow.

Dustin Klein's Raleigh Track

I was surfing the net this morning and I saw the name Dustin Klein on Prolly's site which interest me to see what kinda bike this fixed gear clothing, Cadence pioneer rode and guess what, it makes my eyes open wider to see the condition of his bike. The first sentence that came to my mind is "This is how a fixed gear bike should look like!" It's one helluva beautiful bike! Why am I saying this bike is beautiful? Its because nowadays most people who rides a fixed gear is so cautious. They are so worried of their bike getting scratches, dings or any other gruesome conditions. Come on guys. I know some of you ride rare frames or parts but bicycle are bicycles. Not even humans gonna last forever aite? I love the fact that Mr. Klein, the owner of Cadence and the organizer of the Fast Friday fully utilize his Raleigh Track. With scratches, sticker stains, peeled off frame color, smeary parts and ripped saddle, I'm giving it a 5 star! True!
